Track details¶

The Acrobat DC product family introduces two tracks for both Acrobat and Reader which are essentially different products: “Classic” and “Continuous.” Most end users will install the Continuous track provided from the Reader Download Center. Adobe Acrobat Reader For Free

Acrobat Reader DC is connected to Adobe Document Cloud, so you can work with your PDFs anywhere. You can even access and store files in Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, or Microsoft OneDrive. Say hello to easy file access. You can check by right-clicking your desktop icon for Adobe Reader XI, then Properties Compatibility tab. If that isn't the problem, you might need to ask on Adobe's forums. Perhaps there is a settings file somewhere you can remove so it behaves more like the original installation (pre-DC).

This error indicates that your Acrobat/Reader installation was customized with the use of a Transforms (.MST) file. The .MST file could be missing from its original location or corrupted.

This error could also occur when downloading and updating with the Adobe Application Manager. The error can be bypassed by downloading the update separately from installing it. That is, save the updater file locally (on your computer) and then run it in a separate step.

To download and install the update, locate the latest update for Acrobat or Reader here:

After clicking Proceed to Download and then Download Now, click Save or Save As to save the file to your computer. After downloading, locate the patch file on your computer and double-click the file to run the update.

For Windows, patch filenames have a .MSP extension and are named for each product and update, such as AcrobatUpd11009.msp, AcrobatUpd1014.msp, or AdbeRdrUpd11007.msp.
